The magical arrival of the Elf at home

The Elf tradition is a fun Christmas custom that has become very popular, especially in homes with children. It is based on the idea of a Magical elf who "visits" families' homes during the Christmas season to observe how children behave and report to Santa Claus each night whether they have been good or bad.

Here we explain how this story works, which is becoming a Christmas must-have.

1. The great arrival of the Elf : Usually, the elf "appears" at home at the beginning of December or even on December 1st, and parents can read the story that accompanies the doll to explain the elf's mission to the children.

2. Daily or mischievous positions: Every night, while the children are sleeping, parents place the elf in different places or situations within the house, giving the children the impression that the elf has traveled and returned during the night. Sometimes, the elf appears to be causing mischief, which adds a fun touch.

3. Very important! You should never ever touch the Elf : One of the key rules is that children must not touch the elf, as this would cause him to lose his "magic" and not be able to return to the North Pole.

4. Countdown to Christmas: Every morning, children wake up excitedly looking for the elf, wondering where he has hidden this time or what mischief he has gotten up to. Elf follows this pattern until Christmas Eve, when he returns to the North Pole with Santa Claus to stay there until next year.

A great purpose:
The tradition of the presence of the Elf at Home aims to add excitement and fantasy to the Christmas season, helping children to behave while waiting for Santa's arrival. It also becomes a fun and creative activity for the whole family, as parents can invent funny, educational and magical situations for the elf each day.

It is a fun way to involve the little ones in the Christmas celebration, to keep the illusion of Christmas alive and, what we like most, to create a family tradition.

The cutest elves, both boys and girls, have arrived at Olivia's party. They're originals from The Elf on the Shelf®. You can choose between a boy elf or a girl elf. Both come in a pretty box, accompanied by an illustrated book that explains this tradition to children and a certificate of family adoption. We hope you like them as much as we do.
